Meet the Groomers!

Shelby

Picture
Shelby is originally from California and was raised in a home that could be easily described as a small zoo, surrounded by many kinds of animals ranging from saltwater fish, small mammals and reptiles, to cats and dogs. This experience and love for animals led to an early desire to work with them. Upon graduating high school, she decided to become a pet groomer and attended school at American Grooming Academy run by Master Groomer Angela Clark and earned her certification as an Advanced Pet Stylist. Shelby began grooming dogs in 2013 and cats in 2016. She is Dog and Cat CPR Certified as of 2018. She has recently shifted her focus to be toward dogs with temperament and skin issues, along with dogs in need of TLC and patience. Her goal is to help animals feel comfortable and is looking to begin collaborating with veterinarians in order to create action plans to topically treat dogs with skin conditions. Shelby has worked for both corporate stores and mom and pop shops, and found that she likes the feel of a small business more because she can connect with her clients on a more personal level. Shelby’s favorite part of her job is to pamper and make dogs and cats feel and look wonderful! She loves to offer a safe, and relaxing environment so that grooming can be a positive experience for her clients, pets and people alike. She knows the importance of this because she herself is the proud parent of a beautiful Australian Cattle Dog named Maisey and two beautiful cats, named Jackie and Wilson.

Lyndsey

Picture
Lyndsey was born in California and raised here in Bellingham. She has never known a life without animals, growing up with cats, dogs, birds, chickens, ducks, fish, frogs, and other small animals. She knew she wanted to spend her life working with animals, but knew the heartbreaking work of the veterinary field wasn't for her. In 2009, she was thrown into the grooming world when she applied as a cashier at PetSmart, but was offered a position as a bather instead. Shortly afterwards, she attended their grooming academy and became a certified groomer. In 2013, she decided to move to smaller, private-owned salons where she began to really fall in love with her career. Lyndsey loves that her profession blends helping animals in need and utilizing her artistic talents, doing fun cuts and colors. She is the proud parent of Koen the Border Collie, Kyzer the Aussie-Shepherd mix, and Rufus the chinchilla.

Amber

Picture
Amber grew up on a small farm and always knew she wanted to work with animals. While her initial dream was to work with horses, she grew a love for working with dogs, often training people's pups for them. After being hired as a bather in a small California pet supply store, she fell into grooming by accident! Shelby, who was the salon manager at the time, and another groomer noticed Amber's talent and urged her to attend grooming school. She fell in love with the creative aspect of grooming, with the trade appealing to her artistic side. In 2016, Amber gained her certification as an Advanced Pet Stylist through the American Grooming Academy. She is Pet CPR certified and holds a continuing education certificate. She strives to be the very best groomer she can be and is constantly practicing and refining her scissor skills! Her goal is to one day be on groom team USA, alongside big ambitions to own her own grooming salon one day. She specializes in, and works best with, poodles and the like. Amber is a proud pet parent of three poodles named Romee, Mithril, and Anastasia, alongside one mixed pup named Kota.
